Armon training with Prince Rapses.

Back in ancient Egypt, Armon was a warrior in pharaoh Amenhotep's royal army. In one of his battles, he lost his arm. As a means of gratitude, the pharaoh gave him a magical, golden arm for him to use as a replacement, and also made him prince Rapses's bodyguard and Egypt-Tsu trainer. We know that Armon cared about his mother, as well as her cooking, and Armon has said that he also had a lot of girlfriends in the past. In 1525 B.C., Scarab planned to kill the pharaoh's son, and absorb his spirit, which would give him immortality. One night, he succeeded in his plan, and unfortunately for Armon and Rapses's other guardians, they arrived when it was already too late. Scarab engaged in a fight with the guardians, aided by his Shabties and Ja-Kal's brother, Arakh. These threats proved too much for the guardians, and Armon died in battle. After his death, the pharaoh mummified him, gave him a magical amulet and destined him to protect his reincarnated son in the future.

Modern Times

In 1997, Armon alongside the other mummified guardians were discovered and brought to a museum in San Francisco for an exhibit showcasing the life of prince Rapses. The exhibit was funded by Scarab who was still alive, in hopes that it would attract the reincarnation of Rapses, which we find out is a young boy named Presley. Scarab succeeds, bringing the young boy to him, but he has also brought unwillingly the mummified guardians who are there to stop him. Armon and the other guardians are re-awakened and stop Scarab from getting Presley. Armon and the other guardians now protect Presley from Scarab and his forces, as well as other threats which emerge throughout the series.

During one of his schemes, Scarab accidentally implants a magical amulet on Armon that was supposed to be planted on Ja-Kal. The amulet starts draining Armon's powers, and Armon starts feeling weaker and weaker. This upsets him, and makes him wanting to prove his strength, eventually causing him to participate in a wrestling tournament, where the amulet is destroyed and gives him back his powers. After being bullied by a kid nicknamed "Tiny", Presley asks Armon to train him in Egypt-Tsu, and Armon is up to the task, turning Presley into a good Egypt-Tsu fighter. In yet another one of Scarab's schemes Armon is obliged to participate in a challenge referred to as "Challenge of the Maze", where if Presley's guardians lose against Scarab, Scarab will take the young prince as a prize. Armon is initially defeated, but thanks to Ja-Kal, Presley is saved. When Scarab realizes he is going broke because of his schemes to get rid of the Mummies, he brings the spirits of undead gold miners back from the dead, to bring him all the gold in San Francisco. That causes the ghouls to attack the Mummies, and Armon loses his golden arm, which is being taken by the ghouls. Armon is heartbroken by that loss, but he later realizes that he might need to sacrifice his arm for a second time, if it means to save the day. However that is proven unnecessary. During one night, Armon and the Mummies find themselves in San Francisco, without any power, and under extreme danger. Armon gets really close to being defeated once and for all, since without power, he and the other guardians can lose their lives. Thankfully however, he makes his way back to the Sphinx just in time. In one specific episode, Rath's old student, Chantra, makes her way into the Sphinx, and disguises herself as long gone family and friends of the Mummies. In Armon's case, she disguises herself as Armon's mother, and makes him sad over the loss of her. During the end of the series, Scarab comes up with a final plan to get rid of the Mummies. With the help of Set and Anubis, he revives his old associate and follower, Arakh and his son, Kimas, to destroy the Mummies. Kimas comes across Armon and Nefertina, and initially sides with them and helps them fight Scarab, gaining Armon's trust. However Kimas briefly sides with Scarab, but after realizing his mistake, once again, helps the Mummies defeat Scarab and his father. Armon would continue on protecting Presley.

Personality

Amulet armon

Armom's amulet and emblem.

Armon is a gentle giant. He loves to fight, and enjoys spending time watching television, which he reffers to as "the Magic Box". Armon also enjoys training Presley into the art of Egypt-Tsu, wanting to turn him into a great warrior, like himself. Armon also has quite a big stomach, and is shown to greatly enjoy food, especially "Beefy Burgers" from the local fast food chain which goes by the same name. Armon has been portrayed as "playfully naive". He may not be the sharpest one of the Mummies, as he often chooses to punch his way through a problem than to solve it peacefully, but his naiveness has often resulted in the solution of many issues encountered by the Mummies, as he often finds a simpler way to solve a problem. However, Armon feels sad when he is weak, because he doubts his strength, and wants to prove to himself that he can still fight. Armon also has a great emotional (and physical) attachment to his arm, which was a gift from the pharaoh to him, after he lost his real arm. When his golden arm was removed and stolen by undead gold miners, it caused him great emotional pain. Armon also often engages in arguments with Rath, as Rath is the voice of logic in the group, while Armon chooses to fight first and ask questions later, bringing up a "brains vs brawns" argument throughout the series. Despite these flaws, Armon always stands by his friends, and will always try to help them, no matter the cost.

Powers and Abilties

Armon is most certainly the strongest of the Mummies. He, alongside the other guardians, possesses a magical amulet shaped after a ram's head, that gives him ram-shaped armor. With this armor, his strength and durability is greatly amplified. Using his helmet, he charges through enemies, like a ram, and he can use his golden arm as both a custom propeller and drill. Without his armor, Armon still has great strength, as he has shown to be more powerful than the other Mummies, even with just one arm. Ja-Kal himself mentioned that he had seen Armon lift up a cow over his head effortlessly. Also, he, like the other Mummies, can transform his face, turning it into a giant mouth with sharp teeth around it, which he uses to scare his enemies, and can also use his bandages as a means to sling across the city and wrap up his foes.

Trivia

  • Armon's name is a pun on the words "Arm on". No doubt as a nod to both his missing arm and his golden replacement.
  • The packaging for his figure confirms Khnum to be Armon's patron deity and the creator of his armor.
  • Armon had girlfriends in ancient Egypt, "like Anubis has fleas".
  • Armon's hero is apparently Beefy Burger's mascot, the Beefy Burger Boy.
