Nefertina show 20

Nefertina with Prince Rapses in ancient Egypt.

Nefertina grew up in ancient Egypt. Not a lot of details are given about her childhood, except that she was an only child. Her father, who wanted a son instead of a daughter, was never really proud of her. Nefertina, wanting to prove that she was capable of greatness and wanting to prove a woman can do whatever a man can, she disguised herself as a man, going by the name of Nefer, and started driving chariots on her own in secret. Nefertina, still disguised as a man, won the Nile Valley Championship, beating every driver. Her own father came up to her without recognizing who she truly was and told her he wished he had a son just like her. Even her friend, Qena, wasn't able to tell that she was in reality, a girl.

Later on she became the pharaoh's chariot driver. She was so good at it, that the pharaoh tasked her with being one of his son's protectors. Prince Rapses was also the only one who knew about Nefertina's secret, threatening her that he will tell the pharaoh the truth unless Nefertina taught him how to drive, which she initially declined, saying that he was too young for such an activity. Rapses told her that she was not allowed to drive either, and ultimately Nefertina taught him how to drive a chariot.

Just like the other guardians of the prince, when Scarab succeeded in killing Rapses, she died in battle, and was mummified alongside the other guardians.

Modern Times

Nefertina ra ra ra ra

Nefertina and the rest of the Mummies were discovered and brought to San Francisco in 1997, as a museum exhibit. When Scarab attacked the reincarnation of their former prince, Presley Carnovan she was reawakened and defended the young boy, driving Scarab off. When Presley tried to hide the Mummies in his house, it was there that the rest of the group found out that she was really a girl this entire time, something that Presley had already figured out. Later on, Nefertina once again proved her driving skills when she was able to instantly grasp and drive a modern car. Her and the other mummies fought Scarab again and cemented their relationship with Presley, as their protector.

Nefertina desert chic

Nefertina has had a major part in many of the events throughout the series. In Desert Chic she started falling in love with the god of chaos, Apep, who was brought from beyond the Western Gate by Scarab as a means to capture the prince. When she finally met Apep, who was also coincidentally a skilled driver, they both expressed mutual admiration. However when Apep found out who she was really protecting, Apep abducted her. When he and the rest of the Desert Princes ambushed Presley, Nefertina broke free and fought them alongside the rest of the Mummies. Apep took Presley with Nefertina chasing after him. Nefertina struck a deal with Apep, challenging him to a race. If she won, he would have to let go of Presley and return to his world. But if he won, he would get both the prince and her forever. Nefertina started winning, but Apep knocked her over the Golden Gate bridge, as an attempt to slow her down. Realizing what he had done, Apep rushed to save her before she fell to her doom, covering her body with his own, so that he would take the blow. Apep revealed that he raced to win her, not lose her, before going back through the Western Gate.

Nefertina paws

In Paws, Nefertina's patron goddess, Bastet came to San Francisco after her amulet interfered with one of Bastet's statues. Bastet took control of her follower, transforming her into a cat-like creature. Noticing the severe lack of cat worship, Bastet demanded that Nefertina should find the pharaoh and bring him to her. Nefertina attacked the Mummies and took Presley to Bastet. Ja-Kal came to the realization that since Nefertina is know their enemy, they must be prepared to destroy her if its necessary. Presley tried to the spell set on her by Bastet, by reminding her of her true purpose. After Rath tricked Bastet into destroying her own crystal, she was defeated and Nefertina returned to normal, asking forgiveness from Presley and forgiving Ja-Kal.

Nefertina loss of face

In Loss of Face after Scarab stole a diamond to create a potion that would make him young and beautiful again, Nefertina accidentally made the potion fall on her head during one of their fights. The potion turned her back into a human, restoring her beauty. Nefertina used this as an opportunity to finally go out more on her own, without risking the world finding out who and what she really was. Her restored beauty landed her a lot of job opportunities in fashion and modelling, distancing herself more and more from her duties set on her by the pharaoh. The Mummies realized that Scarab would be after her to retrieve his potion. Ja-Kal desperately tried to bring some sense into her but she declined to go back to her old ways and went on a photoshoot instead, which was actually an ambush by Scarab himself. She tried to fight her way out, and alongside the Mummies defeated Scarab yet again. In the end, Nefertina decided it would be best for their safety is she removed the potion and turn back to normal.

Nefertina a dark shrikey night

In A Dark and Shrieky Night, Nefertina and the other Mummies have to make it back to the Sphinx without any power. Using what little money they had, Nefertina decided it would be best for her to get on a bus towards the Sphinx and take the Hot-Ra to the Mummies, so that they all could go home. However because of an attempted robbery inside the bus Nefertina tried to defeat the bandits on her own, but to no avail. The Mummies, realizing something was wrong, attempted to stop the bus and free her. After the bus crashed on a police vehicle, once again Nefertina and the Mummies had to look for another way to head home. In an attempt to make some money to afford transportation, Nefertina became the lead singer in their newly created band, exciting the audience. Nefertina and the rest of the group were able to take the subway and head back home.

Nefertina pepped with good intentions

In Pepped with Good Intention, Nefertina wished upon a star for Apep to return. In an ambush by Scarab, Apep revealed himself and helped the Mummies escape from Scarab. In the middle of the night, Nefertina left the Sphinx in secret to search for Apep in the place where they first revealed their feelings for each other. Thinking the same, Apep was there as well, revealing that Nefertina's wish was what brought him back. Apep asked her to come back with him through the Western Gate, but Nefertina declined, her duties lying with the reincarnated prince. Realizing that Presley was an obstacle to their relationship, Apep abducted the prince with the plans of "saving him" once the Mummies try to do so themselves, to both impress Nefertina and earn her trust. However his plan backfires, when Scarab backstabs Apep, trying to take the prince for himself. Apep apologizes for his mistake and asks for Nefertina's forgiveness, telling her that he would do anything for her. Nefertina agrees to let him help. Apep seals himself with Scarab beyond the Western Gate, leaving Nefertina behind, heartbroken.

Nefertina eye of beholder

In Eye of the Beholder, Chantra disguises herself as Nefertina's old friend, Qena, acting surprised to find out she was a woman. Qena said he felt betrayed over Nefertina's lies and tried to guilt trip her, telling her that she should have had the courage to change the people's minds and help the women, but instead chose to live a lie.

Nefertina true believer

In True Believer, Nefertina comes across Bix Bingsley a sales clerk who works in a clothes store. Bix fell in love with her, as he asked her out for a coffee, Nefertina saying she'd prefer to watch a sunset with him instead. In a surprise attack by Scarab's shabties, Bix gets hurt and Nefertina tells the Mummies that they need to take him to a hospital. Bix wakes up, sees the Mummies and starts freaking out, making the Mummies run away. Bix watches a TV show named "The Incredible Truth" which asks for people to provide proof of mummies living among the people, a plot actually created by Scarab to reveal more information about them. When Bix tells his story, Scarab realizes he could provide more information about them and tasks him to find more proof of their existence. Bix then remembers his date with Nefertina, using it as the perfect opportunity to get more proof. Nefertina and Bix meet up, as he starts photographing Nefertina. However unbeknownst to him Scarab was tracking his location, ambushing the Mummies. Nefertina angrily told him to stay down as they fight with Scarab. Nefertina saves Bix and they leave the battlefield. When Bix takes his poorly documented "proof" to the TV show, Nefertina is heartbroken yet again and felt sorry for him getting ridiculed on TV. Nefertina said she wished he never met him as she looked at the clothes store. Bix however reveals himself saying that he is sorry, and Nefertina thanks him for the brief moments they shared before kissing him and disappearing.

Nefertina family feud

In the Family Feud trilogy, Nefertina finds Kimas alongside Armon and help him escape after he came across some thugs. Nefertina and Armon take Kimas out to have a good time, but are ambushed by Arakh, Scarab and his shabties. Kimas reveals that he is a mummy as well as the son of Arakh, and after he transforms, helps them escape. Nefertina tried to convince Rath and Ja-Kal that Kimas didn't mean harm to them, and was on their side.
